Highlights for 2012
Events planned for 2012 include our annual fundraiser, Fiesta Pooch Parade at the Alamo Heights Swimming Pool. This official Fiesta event highlights the role of Therapy Animals of San Antonio in the community and provides a fun, wholesome, family-oriented event that everyone can enjoy. The proceeds raised from this event support the programs and activities of Therapy Animals of San Antonio in the community. All monies remain in the local area supporting our all volunteer, non-profit organization. Click on Fiesta Pooch Parade for more info on our parade for 2013!
Our volunteers also enjoy events where Therapy Teams get together to mingle and get to know each other. One great event is Animal Crackers which was held in the spring this year. It was a picnic with food, games, and fun for everyone.
Another fun event is the Blessing of the Animals held in the fall. This event is held to offer blessings on these wonderful animals who bring healing and joy to so many people in the area. Local ministers come to offer prayers for animals. It is also a picnic with food, the animal blessing and getting to know fellow members!
On November 11, 2012 we had our Annual Meeting. Everyone found out what Therapy Animals of San Antonio has been doing this year by picking up their copy of the annual reports at our meeting. Food, fun, and fellowship were topped off by the announcement of this year's Therapy Animals of San Antonio awards for outstanding Therapy Teams and supporters.
