Julie Reis and Newman
Several kids we were to visit were sleeping so we visited a few of the parents who wanted to see Newman and then went to the peds play room to visit a couple little girls who were not in their rooms when we stopped - what a hoot...two of the cutest little girls who just loved Newman and couldn't get enough of him. Then we went to the main atrium waiting room and visited with a couple adults. Saw a couple little boys sitting with Grandma so we went over to see them and boy, was Grandma happy! They'd been there for quite some time and the boys - probably about 4 and 6 - were getting kind of bored (but still being very good) so I gave each of them a dog coloring book, a box of crayons and a picture of Newman and they were thrilled. Grandma was VERY grateful for the visit, too!! I heard her telling someone on her cell phone that a dog had just stopped to visit them and it was so nice for the kids to have the dog there for a little while. Guess it doesn't matter if you're sick or just waiting - sometimes a pet visit is just the ticket!
